The town is situated in the "Pyrénées Orientales", between Argelès sur Mer and Le Boulou              (a well known spa)

Collioure is 14 km away and the tax-free border area Perthus is only 15 km driving. You will be able to find all sorts of products (e.g. perfumes, clothing, food) at strongly reduced prices.

The town is pleasant and quiet. All amenities are available in the town centre : butcher, baker, grocery, doctor, pharmacy, restaurants, bars, pizzerias...)

Perpignan airport : is 40 km away (Perpignan international airport)

Busses : daily services to the beaches from Saint Génis.

Hikes and mountain bike : in the Albères massif or the Canigou, there are several well signposted trails, which will allow you to discover the region (See the Saint Génis des Fontaines tourism office)

For fishermen : Amélie les Bains and its outskirts with superb sceneries and lots of rivers where you can fish on trout, will be awaiting you.

Beaches : the nearest beach is situated at 8 km. at Argelès. Canet en Roussillon and Saint Cyprien are also worthwhile visiting.

For those who have a boat : you will be able to get your boat afloat in the sea at the Racou point (Port Argelès). There are nice trips to be made to Collioure, Port Vendres or Banyuls ; and if the weather conditions are favourable, you can go to Rosas (1H by boat).
